Advanced Java™ 2 Programming

This course is intended for programmers who are familiar with the Java environment and syntax and are ready to learn more about developing complex applications. It also discusses some of the issues involved in the development and deployment of distributed applications.

A sound knowledge of Java is essential. Those unfamiliar with Java should take an introductory Java course first, such as Java 2 Programming Language.

A PC with JDK™ (Java Development Kit) version 1.2 or later. Integrated development environment preferable. A local Microsoft Access database on each PC is used for the JDBC exercises. A C compiler or development environment will be needed to do the exercises for the JNI chapter.
